Elite Travel Beach
Bay to Bay and Bodhi Beach (from Sonoma County) are teaming up to run our first Elite travel beach program!
This committed group will train on Sunday mornings with our Sunday Training Groups and on Wednesday evenings for an elite team practice. The season culminates at AAU Beach Club Nationals July 13-14th in Hermosa Beach.
Bay of Bodhi Beach will be led by Bodhi beach director Heidi Ilustre-Boatright:
Heidi started her beach volleyball career in 2000, playing in the local tournaments around Oahu. In 2001, Heidi and Tanya Fuamatu-Anderson partnered, qualified for the AVP tour, and began a run that would take them to numerous top ten finishes around the country.
In 2005, the Philippines Olympic Committee recruited Heidi and Diane Nelson to represent the Philippines on the international level, competing at the Asia Games, the Southeast Asia Games, and the FIVB World Tour with the ultimate goal of qualifying for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. They came up short in their bid for Beijing, but after seeing the sports impact around the world, Heidi came home inspired to grow the sport for the next generation.
In 2010, Heidi continued her coaching career on “the mainland”, at UCLA Bruin Beach, Golden Gate Volleyball in Marin, The Lab in Colorado, and SynergyBeach in Sacramento, mentoring and guiding numerous athletes on their road to playing collegiate beach volleyball.

Schedule
Beach Club trains on Sunday mornings & Elite Beach also trains on Wednesday evenings:
- Sunday Training Groups:
- Middle Schoolers go 8:00 am - 10:00 am
- High Schoolers go 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
- Bay to Bodhi Beach Wednesdays 5:00 - 7:00 pm

Benefits
Beach volleyball is the best cross-training tool for indoor players. Unlike indoors, there are only two players on a team. This maximizes the contacts for each person since both players will have to pass, set, hit, block, and play defense in every single rally.
The amount of volleyball repetitions, coupled with the low impact cardio and resistance training of playing in the sand creates an ideal environment for training!

What to expect:
Bay to Bay Beach Club is designed for club experienced athletes that are looking to elevate their training experience. Whether it be to increase your volleyball IQ for an indoor team or to prepare to play on the Summer beach volleyball tournament circuit, beach club can help:
- Develop complete volleyball skills in each athlete (since you have to perform every skill over the course of a rally)
- Instill confidence in players during competition as they learn to "own" their court
- Increase your vertical jump and endurance while minimizing injury risk as you train in the low impact but high resistance sand
- Weekly competition with players of similar skill and age level
