2023 Power League Boys Club Volleyball Qualifier Recap

After two weekends and three age divisions of competition the NCVA Power League Qualifier results are in. Check out how Bay to Bay boys club volleyball teams fared at the first event of the 2023-24 season!

Bay to Bay 18-1: Our eldest team went a perfect 5-0 over the course of weekend 1 without dropping a set. The 18-1's come in ranked as the #1 overall seed in the region after finishing the Power League season as the #2 ranked team in last years 18's division as a 17's team.


Bay to Bay 18-Premier: Coach Ryan's squad also closed out the weekend with a perfect 5-0 record dropping no sets against the competition. They will enter Power League #1 as the #11 overall seed.


Bay to Bay 18-Club: Coach Ryan and Kyle's team went 3-2 on the weekend and will begin Power League as the #30 overall seed in the Bronze division. They had a number of competitive matches including a 3 set loss to #8 seeded NorCal 18-1's.


Bay to Bay 17-1: Coach Arielle and Cos' team finished the weekend 5-0 without dropping a set. They will begin Power League as the #4 overall seed. Highlight from the weekend was completing a "perfect set" defeating a team 25-0. Shoutout to Sindu Udhayakumar for serving 24 balls in a row!


Bay to Bay 17-Premier: Coach Mason and Pin-Joe's team went 3-2 on the weekend playing in a number of closely contested 3 set matches. They will start the year as the #24 seed in the Silver division after losing an epic battle with the Bay to Bay 16-Premier team 25-22, 19-25, 15-13.


Bay to Bay 17-Club: Coach Bryan and Katie's team went 3-2 on the weekend and will start as the #27 seed in the Bronze division at Power League 1. Their first match of the tournament was a barn burnerin which they bested SynergyForce 17-1's in 3 sets.


Bay to Bay 16-1: Coach Chad, Alex, and Spencer's team went 4-1 on the weekend and will start the year as the #29 seed in the Bronze division. Their only loss came in the challenge match to Pac Rim 18-1's by a score of 23-25, 21-25.


Bay to Bay 16-Premier: Coach Gregg, Natalie, and Emily's team started as the #38 seed and went 5-0 on the weekend to overtake the #12 seed and will start in Gold at Power League 1. The teams final three matches all went to three sets and the boys were able to overcome Aspire 18-1's, UC Elite 18-1's, and Bay to Bay 17-Premier to clinch their place in the top division.


Bay to Bay 16-Club: Coach Sean and Julian's team went 5-2 on the weekend which will start them as the #20 seed in the Silver division. The teams only two losses were in three sets to Fresno Phoenix (25-17, 22-25, 17-19) and MVVC 16 Black (25-23, 18-25, 9-15).


Bay to Bay 16-National: Huge shoutout to coach Ben and Ryan's 16-National team who started the weekend as the #32 seed and went 6-1 on the weekend to overtake the #2 overall seed in the 16's division! The boys took down NorCal 16-1's (16-25, 25-23, 15-12) in the final match of the tournament to clinch their spot in the Gold division at Power League 1. Nice work 16-National!


Bay to Bay 15-1: Coach Matt and Kyle's team went 3-2 on the weekend while playing up in the 18's division. They started as the #42 seed and finished as the #18 seed which will place them in the Silver division for Power League 1. The boys had a competitive match against MVVC 18 Red (losing 19-25, 18-25) and a great showing against Kinnect 18-1 in the semifinals of their bracket (25-17, 25-22).


Bay to Bay 15-Premier: Coach Lacey and Emily's team went 4-3 on the weekend and will start the year as the #31 seed in the Bronze division of 16's. The boys gutted out two solid wins over Lakas 15-1's and Lakas 16-1's to claim their spot in the division.


Bay to Bay 15-Club: Coach Andrew and Kyle's team went 5-2 on the weekend which allowed them to take over the #16 overall seed in the Silver division to start Power League. The boys had two great matches in their morning pool on Day 2, taking Fresno Phoenix to 3-sets (25-11, 22-25, 7-15) and Bay to Bay 16-Club (20-25, 21-25). They then went 2-0 in their final pool against Corre 16-1 and Kinnect 16-1.


Bay to Bay 14-1: Coach Arin and John's team came into the weekend as the #38 seed in the 16's division and left with the #24 seed after going 3-4 on the weekend. They took down Kinnect 15-1's in 3 sets (12-25, 25-19, 15-10) and finished out the tournament with a 2-0 sweep of Academy 16's.


Bay to Bay 14-Premier: Coach Colton and Cassie's team went 5-1 on the weekend and will enter Power League 1 as the #8 seed. Their only loss came in their first match of the tournament to Eclipse 14-1's. The boys rebounded quickly to win their next 5 in a row.


Bay to Bay 14-Club: Coach Andrew and Ben's team went 4-1 on the weekend and will start the season as the #30 seed in Bronze. The boys got the short end of a 3-way tie stick in their first pool which knocked them out of Gold contention but they continue to raise their level of play over the course of the following matches and finished 2-0 on Sunday.


Bay to Bay 13-1: Coach Frank and Allie's team went 2-2 on the weekend which will start them as the #26 seed in the Bronze division. The boys played Bay to Bay 14-Premier tight losing (22-25, 22-25) and then fell in three sets to UC Elite 14's (25-22, 22-25, 12-15).


Bay to Bay 13-Premier: Coach Jon and Brendan's team went 2-2 on the weekend and will start the year as the #24 seed in the Silver division at Power League 1. The boys took down NorCal 13-1's and Red Rock 14-1's on their way to their Silver division finish.


Bay to Bay 12-1: Coach BJ and Mark's team went 2-3 on the weekend and will start in the Bronze division of Power League as the #33 seed. The boys lost a close 3-setter on Saturday to Titans 14's but went undefeated on Sunday taking down MVVC 13 National and MVVC 12 Red in two sets.


Bay to Bay 12-Premier: Coach Jacob and Cassie's team went 0-5 on the weekend but made some tremendous improvements over the course of the weekend! This is the first time there has ever been two 12's teams from one club at NCVA Power League so we are extremely proud of our "young guns" on their growth from match 1 to match 5. They will start as the #49 seed in the 14's division.
